ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet has approved the Hajj Policy 2025 through summary, here on Thursday.
As per the media reports, the new policy outlines the expected cost of next year’s official Haj package, which will be between PKR 1,075,000 and PKR 1,175,000.
In total, 179,000 pilgrims from Pakistan will be able to perform Hajj in 2025. The policy divides the quota equally between public and private operators, with 89,605 slots allocated to each.
An additional 1,000 slots are earmarked for hardship cases, and 300 for low-income employees registered under the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI). Long Hajj will be 38 to 42 days while short Hajj will be 20 to 25 days.
The policy also mandates that children below the age of 12 will not be allowed to perform Hajj. Saudi government approved vaccinations will be mandatory for all participants.
In addition, the “Road to Makkah” service will be available at major airports in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. Women without a male guardian (Mahram) will also be permitted to perform Hajj, provided they meet the conditions laid down by the Council of Islamic Ideology.
