The court inquired from the investigation officer of the ISI whether there was any inquiry against the petitioner.
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has reinstated bail in seven cases related to the May 9 incidents for Imran Khan, the former chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
A two-member bench headed by Justice Masoodi Neelum heard the petitions challenging the decision to revoke Imran Khan’s bail in seven cases related to the May 9 incidents.
The Anti-Terrorism Court had earlier canceled the bails in seven cases, including the attack on Jinnah House. Imran Khan had challenged the decision in the Lahore High Court, arguing against the revocation of bails based on non-compliance.
Barrister Salman Safdar, the former chairman PTI’s counsel, argued that Imran Khan had consistently appeared before the court before his arrest in Toshakhana case. He contended that evidence supporting bail in some cases had been completed, and the court should have released him on bail based on non-compliance. The Lahore High Court upheld the decision of the ATC and ordered Imran Khan to remain in jail.

Prosecutor General Punjab, Syed Farhad Ali Shah, presented counter-arguments, stating that Imran Khan had been convicted, and due to this, he could not receive relief in the form of bail.
Justice Neelum remarked, “Our concern is that the petitioner has been sent to jail in this case. On this basis, bail has been reinstated.”
The court inquired from the investigation officer of the ISI whether there was any inquiry against the petitioner. To this, the investigation officer replied that Imran Khan was involved in the incidents of May 9. After the completion of the evidence, the court directed the Anti-Terrorism Special Court to decide on bail based on compliance, taking the case into account.
