ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) notified up to a 7 percent reduction in the sale price of Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) for October 2024.
According to the notification, the decrease in RLNG price for two Sui gas companies — SSGCL and SNGPL — is mainly due to a decrease in DES price.
In summary to the government, the regulator also recommended a 17pc increase (Rs1.40 per litre) in the sale margins of dealers. Likewise, it also proposed an Rs1.35 per litre increase in the sale margin of petrol and diesel for oil marketing companies (OMCs).
The new price of RLNG for Lahore-based SNGPL consumers has been fixed at $12.0714 per million British thermal units (mmBtu) at the transmission stage and $12.9393 per mmBtu at the distribution stage for October
Meanwhile, the RLNG sale price for Karachi-based Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd (SSGCL) has been fixed at the transmission stage at $12.47 per mmBtu against $11.76 last month. The sale price stage for the company is fixed at $12.46 per mmBtu for October against $13.42 in September 2024.
On a month-to-month basis, the overall reduction for SSGC’s transmission price amounted to $0.835 per mmBtu and $0.955 per unit at the distribution point. The decrease in RLNG price for SNGPL at transmission stood at $0.85 per mmBtu and $0.92 per unit for distribution.
