JEDDAH: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has announced an extension of the seasonal work visa period for international workers as previously they could stay in the kingdom for up to 90 days.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued a statement in this regard, in which it is said that people coming to Saudi Arabia on a work visa can extend their period by another 90 days. This means they can work there for up to 180 days.
The ministry has warned companies that strict action will be taken against them if they are found involved in selling seasonal work visas for Hajj and Umrah services.
It states that companies involved in the sale of visas may be fined up to 50,000 riyals while the companies may also be blacklisted for five years.
The authority has the power to impose both penalties on violators.
Every year, a large number of workers from around the world, including Pakistan, travel to Saudi Arabia on seasonal work visas as they provide services during the Hajj and Umrah seasons.
They help companies handle customers during peak seasons.
