PESHAWAR: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur visited Jalozai in Nowshera district on Wednesday where he inaugurated a low-cost housing scheme (residential apartments) under the New Pakistan Housing Program (NPHP).
The estimated cost of this housing scheme covering an area of 150 kanals is Rs. 3.3 billion. The scheme will have a total of 1,320 apartments, each covering 780 square feet.
This scheme is specially designed for those whose monthly income is less than Rs. 50,000 eligibility criteria (monthly income) is verified by NADRA and New Pakistan Housing Authority.
Under the scheme, each apartment received a subsidy of Rs. 300,000 from the Federal Government and Rs. 400,000 from the Provincial Government to provide affordable housing facilities to the middle and low income sections of the society. In the first phase of the scheme, 116 apartments have been allotted while the remaining apartments are under construction.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a sports complex in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Housing Scheme Jaluzai, which has been completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 17 million complex includes a squash court, futsal ground, artificial tennis and basketball courts as well as a 500-metre long jogging track.
Central Park covers a total area of 42 kanals, of which 8 kanals are reserved for sports facilities. Provincial cabinet members Mian Khaliqur Rehman, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Dr. Amjad Ali, MPA Mian Umar Kakakhil, Commissioner Peshawar, and others were also present.
