DUBAI: More Indian nationals will now be eligible for visa on arrival in the UAE, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) announced on Thursday.
Indian citizens holding tourist visas from the UK and EU countries can now obtain a visa on arrival. Previously, this option was only available to those holding a US resident or tourist visa or residing in the UK and EU. To be eligible, both the applicant’s visa and passport must be valid for at least six months.
Additionally, eligible Indian travellers can now get a 60-day visa for Dh250. ICP also released the updated fee schedule for visa services. A 14-day entry visa for Indian nationals and their family members – who hold US, UK, or EU visas, residency, or green cards – costs Dh100, with visas valid for a further 14 days. Extending for is perturbative. A 60-day visa is available for Dh250.
ICP Director General Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili said that the extension of the visa-on-arrival option for certain Indian nationals is part of the long-term strategic partnership between the UAE and India. It reflects the commitment of the UAE leadership to strengthen economic and trade ties, attract investment, entrepreneurs and talent and further position the UAE as a global tourism and economic hub.
