LAHORE: The Punjab government’s Green Tractor Scheme has garnered an overwhelming response, with over 1.5 million applications received from farmers across the province.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved the scheme, which aims to provide 9,500 tractors to farmers at subsidized prices through balloting. The scheme offers a significant subsidy of Rs. 10 lakh on 50 to 85 HP tractors manufactured in Pakistan. Eligible farmers, those with 1 to 50 acres of agricultural land, can benefit from this initiative.
The tractors available under the scheme include locally manufactured models from renowned companies such as Massey Ferguson, New Holland Al-Ghazi, and Millat Tractor Company.
The application process concluded on October 10, 2024, and the scrutiny of applications has been completed. The Patwar Circle concerned verified the applicants’ land ownership. The balloting for the Green Tractor Scheme took place today, on October 20, 2024.
Winning applicants will receive notification via SMS on their registered mobile number and can check their names on the official website.
The district-wise results are also available for download. This initiative is expected to significantly support farmers across Punjab, boosting agricultural productivity and food production.
