KARACHI: Tragedy struck the family of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) MNA Rana Ansar yesterday morning when her youngest son, Shahzaib Naqvi, died in a road accident in Karachi.
Son of MQM lawmaker, late senior journalist Syed Ansar Ali Naqvi, Shahzaib, 35, was driving the car when it collided with the footpath near Clifton Underpass, resulting in a fatal head injury. His friend, Muhammad Ilyas, 30, was injured in the accident and is currently receiving treatment.
According to police, overspeeding was the cause of the accident. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Clifton police station, and SHO Clifton Azam Rajper reported that Shahzaib resided on Rashid Minhas Road.
Following the accident, the bodies of the deceased and injured were immediately transported to Jinnah Hospital. After completing legal formalities, the police handed over Shahzaib’s body to his family.

The family has announced that his funeral prayers will be held today after Isha’s prayers.
