MULTAN: Veteran politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi stated late on Wednesday that police broke into his home and arrested his son-in-law, grandson, Qasim Hashmi, and housekeepers. Makhdoom Shahid Bahar Hashmi is a candidate supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Twenty Punjab Police officers, according to Javed Hashmi, encircled his “Makhdoom Rasheed” home at 1:00 in the morning and “illegally entered without a warrant,” breaching the house’s sanctity. The senior politician claimed that the PTI workers’ convention was set to take place at the same time as the raid.

He posted on his X account, “My son-in-law Shahid Bahar Hashmi and grandson Qasim Hashmi have been taken into illegal custody.” He stated, all the staff had been taken into custody.

He claimed that police entered his house by breaking the doors.

Javed further informed the group that PTI candidates as well as Meher Bano Qureshi and Zain Qureshi, the children of PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi who is currently incarcerated, were required to attend the convention.

Notwithstanding the raid, veteran politician Makhdoom Zahid Bahar Hashmi’s close relative announced that the workers’ convention will be held at his home, with Meher Bano, the NA-151 constituency candidate, expected to participate.
