RAWALPINDI: Bushra Bibi, the wife of Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has finally been released from Adiala jail today, Thursday, October 24, 2024.
This comes after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted her bail yesterday in the ongoing Toshakhana-II case.
Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb approved Bushra Bibi’s bail, requiring her to submit a surety bond of Rs1 million.
However, her release was initially delayed because the trial court judge wasn’t available to issue the necessary release orders, known as ‘Robkar’, on Wednesday.
Bushra Bibi’s release provides temporary relief as she faces allegations related to improper handling of state gifts. TV footage showed her leaving the jail premises amid strict security today.
This development is significant, especially considering Bushra Bibi’s connection to the high-profile Toshakhana-II case. Her release is likely to have implications for the ongoing case and Pakistan’s political landscape.
