ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday directed authorities to form a medical board for the health examination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, who is currently imprisoned in Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail.
IHC Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb issued the order, stating that the Executive Director of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) should form the medical board and ordered the inclusion of Khan’s physician, Dr Faisal Sultan.
The court further ordered concerned authorities to submit the report regarding the board formation to the Registrar’s Office and send a copy of the court’s order to Superintendent Adiala Jail for compliance.
The court ruling added that Imran Khan, a Class B prisoner, should not face any obstacles in Adiala Jail due to the security measures during his medical check-up by qualified doctors.
Imran Khan had filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), requesting a medical examination by his physicians.
