ISLAMABAD: United States Central Command’s (CENTCOM) magazine, Unipath, has praised Chief of Amry Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir’s approach to military diplomacy and described him as a forceful voice against violent extremists.
The article published in the quarterly magazine commemorated Gen Asim Munir “as a leader whose foremost commitment resides in the security, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan.”
The magazine asserted that Gen. Munir, since he assumed command in November 2022, has charted a course that has spanned from resolute military actions against extremist outfits to astute military diplomacy.
The Centcom magazine highlighted Army Chief Asim Munir’s leadership, military background, and counterterrorism efforts including decisive action against Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). “Under his leadership, through July 2024, 22,409 intelligence-based operations have been conducted against terrorists and their facilitators. They eliminated 398 terrorists, including 31 high-value targets,” the article wrote.
Appreciating the military diplomacy of Pakistan’s Army Chief, the article applauded stronger military and diplomatic relations with countries like the United States and conducting joint military exercises with several other countries.
