Authorities stated at a press conference that the El Mirage scene is the sole place where the investigation is being conducted.

Authorities in San Bernardino County’s El Mirage desert region discovered at least six bodies on Wednesday, according to an NBC Los Angeles report. The place was roped off and an investigation was launched.

The reason of death for the individuals discovered 35 miles east of Lancaster, close to Highway 395, was not disclosed by the responding local authorities.

Authorities said that when officers conducted a wellness check, they found deceased persons among the five that had been reported earlier. Around 8:00 p.m., the bodies were discovered close to a blue SUV and a minivan on a dusty road.

Five people had been listed as dead earlier, but later on Wednesday, another body was discovered by the police, bringing the total to six.

According to the news report, the bodies were at the scene when officials decided not to reveal the identity of the slain individuals.

“It’s going to be heartbreaking no matter what they discover out there as far as the circumstances, so our investigators will do their best to wrap this up quickly and get all the info possible to bring justice to those folks out there,” stated Mara Rodriguez, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department public information officer.

Two cars were discovered by the authorities: a dark blue SUV and a silver minivan. It was also unclear at first what caused the death.

Officials claim that the cars suffered damage from broken windows.

Although the exact location of the shooting is unknown, authorities reported seeing evidence of gunshot wounds.
