ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday granted bail to, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, in the D-Chowk protest case.
ATC Judge Abual Hasnaat Zulqarnain conducted a hearing of the case and approved the post-arrest bail plea of Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan against surety bonds worth Rs 20,000 each.
Imran Khan’s sisters among many other party supporters were arrested from D-Chowk on October 4 during the PTI demonstration. Both were booked in an FIR at Kohsar Police Station for instigating a mob to attack policemen and state institutions.
Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan were sent on judicial remand at District Jail Jhelum on October 12 after spending eight days in custody of Islamabad police.
A day earlier, former premier Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, was freed after nearly 9 months in imprisonment. Bibi was released from Adiala Jail after getting bail in the Toshakhana-II case.
The Islamabad High Court’s Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb accepted the post-arrest bail plea of Bushra Bibi on Wednesday against R1 million surety bonds.
