ISLAMABAD: In a daring and brazen attack, unknown armed individuals targeted prisoner vans at Shangjani Toll Plaza carrying 150 prisoners belonging to the political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).
The armed men opened fire on the prisoner’s van and shattered its windows leading to an escape of multiple high-profile PTI prisoners, police officials confirmed.
The vans were transporting suspects from Attock Jail for a court appearance. The prisoners were facing several charges of terrorism and violence.
According to law enforcement officials, several charged prisoners managed to escape the situation during this attack.
