BEIJING: Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, a renowned Pakistani scientist, has been honored by the Hunan University of Medicine in China with a newly inaugurated research building bearing his name.
This state-of-the-art facility, spanning 13,000 square feet, will house 17 full-time researchers dedicated to fostering scientific collaboration between Pakistan and China.
Prof. Choudhary’s contributions to scientific research, particularly in establishing Sino-Pak research centers, have significantly advanced joint projects between Chinese and Pakistani scientists.
His distinguished career has earned him numerous awards, including the prestigious Mustafa (PBUH) Prize, Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, as well as the Friendship Award from China and the Golden Silkball Friendship Award.
As Vice President of the World Academy of Sciences for Central & South Asia, Prof. Choudhary continues to play a vital role in promoting scientific cooperation.
He is also a fellow of several esteemed organizations, including the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World and the Royal Society of Chemistry in London.
The naming of the building after Prof. Choudhary marks a historic milestone, as he is the first Pakistani scientist to receive this honor at Hunan University of Medicine.
The establishment of this research facility represents a major step in strengthening scientific collaboration between China and Pakistan, and Prof. Choudhary’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations of scientists.
