Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is continuing its humanitarian efforts in Gaza and Lebanon, with the 17th consignment of aid dispatched from Karachi to Lebanon today.
This latest shipment made possible through collaboration with the Al-Khidmat Foundation, carries approximately 17 tons of essential supplies, including tents, food, dry milk, rice, clothing, hygiene kits, and medicines, according to an NDMA press release.
A chartered flight carrying essential supplies departed from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, bound for Beirut, Lebanon.
The send-off ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including Dr. Farooq Sattar, MNA, and representatives from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Al-Khidmat Foundation.
Dr. Farooq Sattar emphasized the urgent need to provide relief to the war-affected populations of Palestine and Lebanon, considering the ongoing conflict and the dire needs of the affected communities.
He reaffirmed the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to supporting those in distress and stressed the importance of collaboration among welfare organizations and the Pakistani public to strengthen these efforts, NDMA statement added.
To further support these efforts, the Prime Minister has instructed the establishment of the “Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon.” This special account enables the public to donate and aid those facing war emergencies in Palestine and Lebanon.
The Lebanese Ambassador has acknowledged Pakistan’s humanitarian assistance, highlighting its significant impact on providing relief items to war-affected individuals.
A total of 17 aid consignments, weighing 1610 tons, have been sent to Gaza, Palestine, addressing the urgent needs of affected communities amidst ongoing conflict.
The government remains committed to supporting those in distress, reaffirming its dedication to providing humanitarian aid.
Earlier, a second consignment of aid was sent from Karachi to Lebanon, comprising around 100 tons of vital supplies such as medicines, ready-to-eat meat, tents, tarpaulins, warm bedding, winter clothing, and powdered milk.
The aid was transported via flight from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi to Beirut, Lebanon.
