DERA ISMAIL KHAN: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2024
BY MUHAMMAD IRFAN MUGHAL
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) Ameer Maulana Fazlur Rahman has said that he opposed the imprisonment of all political prisoners, including Imran Khan.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman while talking to the mediapersons in Dera Ismail Khan said that only snap elections can save the country.
“It is fine to conduct elections for your own purposes but if someone talks about transparent snap elections, then the situation of the country is said to be deteriorating so that new elections can be avoided,” he criticised.
He said that the “Establishment” will have to be separated from the process of elections and the idea of establishing governments of their own will have to be removed from their minds.
In response to a question, he said that if the government formed with a fake mandate is fine for the country then holding transparent snap elections will not harm the country.
Maulana Fazl said that there were 56 clauses in the Constitutional Amendment which he reduced to 22.
“5 new clauses were the part of the manifesto of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam so the total clauses in the Constitutional Amendment had become 27,” Maulana added.
Maulana Fazlur Rahman claimed that if they had not used the vote in the 26th Constitutional Amendment in the favour of the Government then the government would have bought 11 votes.
Maulana added that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) members did not use their right to vote but they are also happy with JUI-F that they fought the case of constitutional amendments in a good way.
Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that they kept PTI informed moment by moment in the negotiations.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman further said that we saved the country from political crisis and strengthened the Parliament.
Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that in the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, people are leaving their homes and migrating due to the constant deteriorating situation.
He said that if we had not voted in the 26th constitutional amendments, a more dangerous draft than the original draft would have been passed by the Parliament.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the law and order situation in the two provinces i.e Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan is disturbed and he is constantly raising the voice against this.
Regarding the issuance of Alert Notices in Dera Ismail Khan and Tank to Government Officials, he said that terrorists are roaming rampant while people’s lives and property are in danger and people are leaving their homes while the authorities are only trying to to stop Nationalist and Religious leaders with political understanding.
“This will not bring stability but will further worsen the situation,” he said, adding that the government should sit down with those leaders who are trusted by the people to find a solution for the problems faced by the country.
Earlier, Maulana Fazlur Rehman also participated in a dinner held by Malik Said Rasool Dhapp dinner and later in a function held by Aman-ul-Haq Ghazni Khel.
