MASTUNG: At least five including three schoolchildren were killed and several others injured in a blast in Balochistan’s Mastung on Friday morning.
The deceased included three schoolchildren, one policeman, and a passerby, while, several were injured including the majority of school-going children. The deceased children were aged between five and 10 years, Mastung District Police Officer (DPO) Umrani further said.
The blast targeted a police van at Civil Hospital Chowk near a girls’ school in Mastung, police said. The explosion damaged a police mobile and several other vehicles.
DPO Umrani said the explosive material was fixed in a motorcycle and was detonated via “remote control”.
All injured have been shifted to Civil Hospital, where emergency has been enforced.
