Following the impending elections, the Chinese representative made no announcements about the Chinese president’s visit to Pakistan.
The Chinese Consul General recently visited the Lahore Press Club (LPC), and in response, the club formally denied the dissemination of false information. The LPC made it clear in a news statement that Pakistan and China do not currently have a 10-year agricultural agreement.
Furthermore, the Chinese delegate remained silent on the Chinese president’s planned visit to Pakistan following the impending elections.
The Chinese envoy received an apology from the LPC for the incorrect information’s publishing. Mr. Zhao Shiren, the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Lahore, conveyed China’s wish for elections in Pakistan that are orderly, transparent, fair, and peaceful.
He expressed his hopes for Pakistan to have long-term peace, stability, and progress following the election. Mr. Zhao Shiren stressed that the Kashmir dispute should be resolved in accordance with UN resolutions.
Consul General Zhao Shiren was cordially welcomed by President Arshad Ansari and other members of the Lahore Press Club at a media engagement as part of the “Meet the Press” event.

President Ansari emphasized the close relationship between China and Pakistan, calling them brothers, friends, and neighbors.
General elections in Pakistan are a domestic concern, according to Consul General Zhao Shiren, and China would not get involved. He said he was ready to work with whoever wins the February 8 elections to create the next administration and go forward as a team.
He reaffirmed that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a cooperative initiative that will continue after completing ten years. With modifications to the power transmission line, CPEC is still under construction, with China having invested $26 billion thus far.
Considering that Pakistan is an agricultural nation, China is willing to collaborate with Punjab on a ten-year plan for agricultural growth.

Consul General Zhao Shiren reaffirmed the determination to advance regional cooperation while highlighting the cordial ties between China, Pakistan, and Iran. He expressed gratitude to the press for covering the CPEC and the friendship between Pakistan and China.
In his remarks, the consul general called on Pakistan and India to settle their differences over Kashmir in line with the UN Charter and any pertinent UNSC resolutions.
He said that China is willing to develop the ML-1 project, which Pakistan has proposed, in two stages: first from Peshawar to Lahore and subsequently from Lahore to Karachi.
The Lahore Press Club presented the Chinese Consul General with a number of recommendations, and he indicated that he would take them into consideration.
There were also talks of organizing professional training scholarships in China and launching a Chinese language school for club members.
Consul General Zhao Shiren received flowers from the LPC office bearers at the conclusion of their visit, and he left a note in the guest book.
