RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday that security forces killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Sarwakai area of South Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The operation was conducted on information about the presence of militants in the area.
During the operation, their own forces took effective action on the hideout of the terrorists, as a result of which four terrorists were killed.
A sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.
It said that Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country.
Earlier this week, eight militants were killed and seven injured in an operation by security forces in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while a Pakistan Army major and two soldiers were martyred in an exchange of fire.
According to ISPR, the security forces conducted an operation in Baka Khel area of Bannu on a tip-off about the presence of militants, during which a fierce exchange of fire took place. The forces have successfully traced the hideout of the militants.
Eight militants were killed and seven were injured in the exchange of fire. 31-year-old Major Atif Khalil from Sudhnoti in Azad Kashmir, 36-year-old Naik Azadullah from Karak and 35-year-old Lance Naik Ghazanfar Abbas from Layyah embraced martyrdom.
