ISLAMABAD: The National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) is responsible for issuing Family Registration Certificates (FRC) to Pakistani citizens.
An FRC is a vital document that contains information about all family members, verified by NADRA. There are three categories to obtain an FRC:
-By Birth: Lists family details, including parents and siblings.
– By Marriage: Lists family details, including spouse and children.
– By Adoption: Lists family details, including guardians.
To be eligible for an FRC, individuals must be registered with NADRA and hold a 13-digit ID number. If a family member doesn’t meet these requirements, their data won’t be included in the FRC.
To apply for an FRC, Pakistani nationals can visit their nearest NADRA Registration Center (NRC) or apply through the Pak-Identity website. Overseas Pakistanis can also obtain an FRC by visiting the relevant mission office abroad.
The fee for obtaining an FRC remains unchanged in November 2024, at Rs1,000. This fee is applicable for the issuance of the identity document.
For those seeking more information, NADRA’s official website provides detailed guidelines and requirements for obtaining an FRC.
