PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has unveiled ambitious plans to revolutionize the province’s healthcare system by including a life insurance facility under the Sehat card.
To ensure the success of the Sehat Card program, Gandapur’s government is working tirelessly to upgrade public sector hospitals, with the ultimate goal of empaneling as many of these institutions as possible.
This strategic move will enable citizens to access free healthcare services across the province, regardless of their geographical location.
Gandapur has identified the health sector as a top priority for his administration, recognizing its critical role in improving the overall quality of life for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s residents.
To achieve this vision, his government is focusing on strengthening healthcare facilities at the grassroots level. This includes optimizing the use of available medical equipment and human resources to provide basic healthcare services to local communities, thereby reducing the burden on teaching hospitals.
Gandapur’s administration has also taken proactive steps to address gaps and loopholes in the Sihat Card scheme, preventing misuse and enhancing its overall efficiency. These efforts have yielded significant improvements in free treatment facilities under the program.
During a recent meeting with the Insaf Doctors Forum, Gandapur shared his vision for transforming Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s healthcare landscape, highlighting the importance of ongoing reforms and service delivery improvements in the public sector.
