PESHAWAR: There has been an increase in pneumonia-related deaths in Peshawar. According to medical officials, 46 children have died from the illness at three well-known city hospitals this month.
Twenty children died of pneumonia at Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) and Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH), according to hospital sources. Six more children died at Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) in Peshawar.

Hospital officials have reported that some 700 children suffering from pneumonia are visiting the Outpatient Departments (OPD) of hospitals every day, adding to the severity of the crisis.
Particularly LRH is struggling with an excess of kids in need of pneumonia treatment. Hospital administrators are concerned that most of the children who are impacted are from suburban areas.
Health professionals observe a sharp rise in fever and pneumonia infection virulence as the temperature drops and the cold gets stronger. Furthermore, they stress that youngsters with impaired immune systems are especially susceptible to the illness’s crippling effects.
