The Driving Test Service has been introduced by the e-Khidmat Markaz at Arfa Software Technology Park (ASTP) as a part of the ongoing Online Driving License service.

The purpose of the pilot project, which is a partnership between the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and the Punjab Traffic Police, is to improve the effectiveness of the province-wide driving license issue procedure.

The Driving Test Service was launched at the e-Khidmat Centre ASTP as the first step in a larger plan to provide this service to all e-Khidmat Marakiz in Punjab.

As part of the pilot project, a conference was held to guarantee the Driving Test Services’ seamless integration into the current e-Khidmat framework.

The caretaker government has already implemented a number of online tools to streamline the application procedure for a driver’s license. The traffic police said last month that individuals may now conveniently renew their learner’s permits online from the comfort of their homes. According to the Lahore Traffic Police, the use of online services will result in a 90% decrease in traffic at facilitation centers.

The province government formally instituted higher driving license prices earlier this month. The Lahore Traffic Police said on X that individuals can now get a learner’s permit for a car or motorcycle for Rs. 500, valid for up to five years.
