BHAKKAR: In Punjab’s Bhakkar, a woman was allegedly raped after being called to return her mobile phone.
The incident took place in the city’s Nazir Town, police said, adding that the victim has been shifted to a hospital for medical examination.
Police say that raids are being conducted to arrest another accused.
The victim told the police that the accused first molested her at DHQ Hospital and later took away her mobile phone. She said that the accused called her to his house on the pretext of returning the mobile phone and he along with his friend raped her.
Earlier, a disturbing incident of sexual assault came to light from Southwest Punjab where a madrasa teacher was arrested for raping a 13-year-old girl student.
A case was registered in Azam Town Renala on the complaint of the victim’s mother who found her daughter seven months pregnant. The FIR said that the cleric was accused of sexually assaulting the girl and then threatening her to keep quiet about the incident.
After a noticeable change in her daughter’s behaviour, the girl’s widowed mother became suspicious and questioned her further. This led to the girl finally revealing the ordeal she faced.
A medical examination confirmed the pregnancy, due to which the victim’s family started legal proceedings, while the accused fled to Multan, but the City Renala Police successfully tracked him down and arrested him.
