NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Spinwam, North Waziristan, resulting in the elimination of six khawarij (terrorists) and injuring six others.
According to Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR), The operation targeted khawarij presence in the area, engaging their location and recovering weapons and ammunition. The killed terrorists were involved in various activities against security forces and innocent civilians.
In a separate incident, security forces thwarted an infiltration attempt by 25 militants near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Mir Ali, North Waziristan. An intense exchange of fire ensued, killing six militants and injuring three, while the rest retreated to Afghanistan.
This operation follows a previous encounter in South Waziristan’s Khumrang area, where five terrorists were killed on November 3-4. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) urged the Afghan interim government to take stronger action against terrorists using Afghan soil for cross-border attacks.
In a related development, local authorities successfully resolved a protest by families affected by an alleged mortar incident in Shakai, Upper South Waziristan, which claimed several children’s lives. Deputy Commissioner Saleem Jan’s negotiations with Mehsud tribe members and families brought an end to the demonstration.
Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to eradicate terrorism, conducting operations to ensure national security and stability.
