ISLAMABAD: Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Railways Amir Ali Baloch has announced that train operation from Quetta will be suspended for four days in view of security concerns and safety of passengers.
The operation will be resumed as soon as the clearance is received.
CEO Amir Ali Baloch said that Pakistan Railways has successfully restored connectivity between Quetta and other parts of the country with the full cooperation of the Balochistan government and security agencies. He asserted that his resolve will not be weakened by such incidents.
At present, 50 injured persons are admitted in the trauma centre, and railway medical teams are there for care, he said. He appreciated the quick response and relief operations initiated by the team of Quetta Division after the terrorist attack.
Amir Ali Baloch also confirmed that the dead and injured will be compensated as per the railway insurance policy.
On Saturday, 27 people were killed and dozens injured as a result of a suicide blast at the Quetta railway station.
