KARACHI: The re-conduct of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) is expected to be held in Sindh on December 1, 2024 (Sunday).
According to the details, Sukkur IBA University has written a letter to the Sindh Health Department, recommending the retake of MDCAT 2024 on December 1.
The Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) has appointed its Controller of Examinations, Imdad Khushak, as the focal person for the test, and the health department has designated Deputy Health Secretary Zohaib Hasan Sheikh.
Furthermore, IBA Sukkur has also recommended to the PMDC to include four options instead of five in the multiple-choice questions (MCQs), consistent with their standard approach.
Earlier, the Sukkur IBA University put seven conditions as an immediate requirement to conduct the MDCAT 2024 under the institution in Sindh.
The secretary STS has written to the Sindh health secretary, demanding the immediate appointment of two focal persons from the PMDC and the health department, and called for an online meeting of the representatives of the PMDC, IBA Sukkur, universities, and the health and universities & boards departments.
The letter further stated that Sukkur IBA would charge Rs6,000 per candidate, and this amount should be deposited in the official bank account 15 days before the scheduled date of the test.
On October 26, the Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered the re-conduct of MDCAT under IBA Karachi and Sukkur IBA University within the next four weeks. However, IBA Karachi has refused to hold the test for the Karachi region and the same would also be conducted by the Sukkur IBA Testing Service (STS).
