Over 7,000 Pakistanis provided feedback to the party, enabling them to enhance their manifesto.
ISLAMABAD: Party leader Nawaz Sharif is releasing the much-anticipated Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) election manifesto today.
The News said earlier today that the party’s intention to address important concerns and include reforms after consulting with stakeholders from all walks of life was the reason behind the manifesto’s delayed release.
Senator Irfan Siddiqui, the chairman of the PML-N Manifesto Committee, explained, “This is the reason the manifesto committee was divided into 35 sub-committees which consulted with the experts of every relevant field to include their input.”

According to Siddiqui’s statement, only the PML-N has invited public opinion to discuss concerns that the majority faces in its manifesto. “We received input from more than 7,000 Pakistanis to improve the manifesto.”
Policies for economic recovery, judicial reforms with input from the judiciary, constitutional protection for local government systems, and the creation of a new ministry of youth affairs to address concerns facing the younger generation are the main areas of attention.
On the other hand, the party has specific strategies in place for dealing with critical topics including media, information technology, bureaucracy reform, and climate change.
Regarding the key points of the party manifesto, Senator Siddiqui stated that it will be an extensive booklet outlining the party’s platform and objectives for Pakistani people. According to him, Nawaz Sharif personally oversaw the entire procedure and received weekly updates on its status from the committee.
“The PMLN wants to introduce judicial reforms and for this purpose, we have proposed in our manifesto to amend certain laws with the consultation of the higher judiciary,” said Senator Siddiqui.

In order to shorten the time that cases are pending in court, the committee has also suggested creating alternative venues for the administration of justice, he added.
“The PMLN wants to alter the structure of local bodies. We’re going to give the nation’s local body system constitutional protection,” he said.
“The PMLN wishes to interact with young people because it acknowledges their significance in the nation. A new ministry of youth affairs will be established for this reason. The ministry would address youth-related topics such as jobs, sports, and education,” the senator disclosed.
In an effort to strengthen national governance, the party has also sought to implement reforms in the bureaucracy. In addition to the bureaucratic adjustments, we have suggested raising the CSS applicant age restriction from 28 to 30 years old. The youth will benefit from this as well,” he stated.
In a similar vein, the party has also incorporated a special section to deal with issues pertaining to the media, information technology, education, health, and climate change sectors. However, a party member who was also on the committee claims that the party manifesto gives special emphasis to foreign policy, which includes Kashmir.
Sports and information technology have also received attention and priority from the PMLN, according to a different committee member.
