ISLAMABA: A proposal to demolish government-owned housing in the federal capital and replace it with high-rise buildings has been put forward, here on Tuesday.
The plan aims to generate Rs.55 billion in revenue for the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and free up 77 acres of land.
The Pakistan Institue of Development Economics (PIDE) has formally recommended the shift to high-rise construction, while the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has expressed interest in the initiative.
