RAWALPINDI: Police have taken senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Omar Ayub and Raja Basharat into custody from outside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Thursday after both politicians were indicted in a GHQ attack case.
During the hearing today at a makeshift court set up in Adiala Jail, the anti-terrorism court (ATC) Judge Amjad Ali Shah indicted PTI founder Imran Khan and other party leaders in the General Headquarters (GHQ) attack case related to the May 9 protests that happened last year.
Following the court’s decision, the opposition leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub, former Punjab’s law minister Raja Basharat, and MNA Ahmed Ali Chattha were arrested.
The court adjourned the case until December 10.
