Ameer JI Siraj ul Haq talking with a flood affectee
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq said the government is not doing any operation for the relief of flood victims, they are waiting for foreign aid, so that if money comes from abroad, they should start relief work.
He said this while talking to media persons at the relief camp set up by Al-Khidmat Foundation as he visited the flood hit areas of Dera Ismail Khan and Tank District, here on Monday.
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq said, the bigger tragedy than the flood was that the government had resources but they didn’t utilize them, officials are sitting in their offices but the victims are sitting on rocks, trees or electricity poles waiting for help.
Mr. Siraj-ul-Haq said after the flood, there is a scene of doomsday in the affected areas, people are lying in disarray and no assistance is being provided by the government agencies to them, the rulers are busy in meetings and politics and the problems and difficulties of the people are skyrocketing, our government will not be active until external aid comes.
He further said after the assistance from the Asian Bank, our government and helicopters have come into action, the work of rehabilitation of the flood victims should be started without international help as the flood victims are in a very difficult situation.
Siraj ul Haq added, the entire Pakistani nation is with the flood victims, Jamaat-e-Islami is playing the role of real opposition in the country. In the past, the corona virus funds, the earthquake relief fund were embezzled, federal and provincial governments are eyeing international aid funds which they will use for election campaign and political purposes instead of rehabilitating the victims but now the people have woken up, they want to warn the rulers that if they manipulate the fund, the people can turn to the palaces and offices of the rulers.
Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami said the volunteers of Al-Khidmat Foundation are rescuing the flood victims overnight and delivering food and water to them.
He said the irrigation department is responsible for the damage caused in Dera Ismail Khan in the recent floods, the rulers should leave politics and become servants of the people, 1 thousand people were martyred due to recent floods and rains across the country.
Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq also met the flood victims on the occasion of his visit to the flood-affected areas and also distributed aid to them.

On this occasion, Provincial President of Al-Khidmat Foundation Khalid Waqas, District President of Al-Khidmat Foundation Manzar Masood Khattak, District Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana Salim Ullah Arshad, ex-District President of Jamaat-e-Islami Zahid Muhib Ullah Advocate, General Secretary Bashir Hargan and others were present.
