Poonam Pandey, an Indian film actor and reality TV celebrity, confirmed her existence on Instagram in a video statement promoting cervical cancer awareness.

“I’m still here. In a video statement on Saturday morning, Poonam Pandey stated, “I did not die because of cervical cancer. The news of my fake death was to raise awareness about the disease.”

“I regret not being able to say that about the hundreds of thousands of women who have lost their lives due to cervical cancer,” she said. It’s not that they were powerless to stop it; rather, it’s that they were clueless about what to do.

“I’m here to tell you that cervical cancer is avoidable, in contrast to other malignancies. All you need to do is complete your testing and receive the HPV vaccine, Pandey continued.

A number of social media users criticized Pandey for her method of raising awareness of a deadly disease.

It’s important to point out that her management posted a bogus announcement of her death on social media on Friday. We’re having a difficult morning. We are so sorry to announce that Poonam, our darling, passed away from cervical cancer. She greeted every living thing that had touched her with unadulterated love and kindness. We would like to request privacy at this time of loss as we cherish the memories of everything we shared with her,” the note on her official Instagram account stated.
