LAHORE: On Tuesday, Mohsin Naqvi, the acting chief minister of Punjab, was elected Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman without a challenge. For the past three years, he has been chosen chairman.
Zaka Ashraf, the former head of the PCB, resigned on January 19, shortly before his most recent three-month extension as interim chairman came to an end, leaving a vacancy for the position of chairman.
After the PCB’s patron appointed him as a member of the BoG last week, caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi had become a serious candidate for the chairmanship.
Shah Khawar, the Election Commissioner, oversaw the election process. The National Cricket Academy, a prestigious venue, offered an appropriate setting for this momentous occasion in Pakistani cricket history.
