On February 8, Pakistan’s general elections will take place, with over 128 million voters exercising their fundamental right to choose their representatives. Significant political confrontations are anticipated in the country’s major cities, with Karachi’s NA-246 constituency serving as one of them.

Candidates
Pakistan’s Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-P) Syed Amin Ul Haq, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-backed (PTI) Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Malik Muhammad Arif Awan, Syed Muhammad Saleem Ashrafi of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Waseem Akhter of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Muhammad Ali of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), Dost Muhammad of the Awami National Party (ANP), and other candidates are vying for the same seat.
Area
Previously known as NA-249, NA-251, and NA-252, the NA-246 Karachi West-III constituency includes Mominabad Sub-Division, with the exception of Charge Nos. 7, 22, 27, and 28 of the city’s District Central.

Overview
The NA-249 Karachi West-II, NA-251 Karachi West-IV, and NA-252 Karachi West-V constituencies made up the constituency in the 2018 elections. The PTI’s Faisal Vawda, the MQM-P’s Amin Ul Haq, and the PTI’s Aftab Jahangir were victorious from these seats, respectively.
There are 423,861 registered voters in the 877,858 total population of the constituency, with 241,259 male voters and 182,602 female voters.
