A 4.9 magnitude earthquake has been reported in Islamabad and its surrounding areas on Saturday night, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The PMD said the earthquake occurred at a depth of 142 kilometres with its epicentre being the Hindu Kush region.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the earthquake occurred at 10:44pm PST.
Dawn News reported that quakes were felt in Peshawar, Swat, Chitral, Lower Di and their surrounding areas.
