To gain support for the establishment of administrations in the center and Punjab, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has “offered” the Pakistan People’s Party the president, the NA speakership, and the Senate chairperson.
The insider account of the meeting between the leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and the Pakistan People’s Party to settle the issues of creating a unity government following the elections on February 8th claims that no party obtained a simple majority.
According to sources, the PPP was offered three constitutional positions by the PML-N in exchange for its support in Punjab and the center. PPP received offers to serve as president, speaker of the National Assembly, and chairman of the Senate. The PML-N also consented to hand over control of Balochistan to the party led by Bilawal.

Moreover, the PML-N supposedly extended an opportunity to become Punjab’s senior minister or deputy chief minister. Following their discussion of the issue during the CECs meeting, both parties have decided to carry on with the negotiations.
Former chief minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, had earlier claimed that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Central Executive Committee (CEC) would determine whether to create an alliance with another political party to form government in the center.
