LAHORE: Shehbaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), declared that if the independents demonstrate a majority and are able to form a government, they will sit in the opposition.
Shehbaz Sharif stated unequivocally that in the current scenario, reaching an agreement is the best course of action if the contenders are unable to form a government.

During the press conference, Shehbaz Sharif became highly disturbed and harshly criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
He mentioned the 2018 and 2013 general elections.
The head of the PML-N also brought up the alleged manipulation of the 2018 general elections, stating that they refrained from taking to the streets even after losing. The day of the 2018 general election was obviously rigged. Shehbaz Sharif stated, “Massive rigging in Karachi was also witnessed by my constituency.
Although there were numerous doubts at the time, he said that the commission’s and the SC’s rulings cleared the path. He claimed that if there had been any indication that the independent candidates were winning the polls on the day of the results, which showed results ranging from 10 to 12 percent,
“It is incorrect to base opinions on results from 10 to 12 percent,” he stated.
He found it somewhat odd that claims of independents winning were made on the one hand, while claims of election tampering were made on the other, precisely when the PML-N leaders were losing their seats. He said that the fact that their candidates were losing and the independents were gaining in this election was highly paradoxical. Khawaja Saad Rafiq graciously conceded his loss in this election.
Reiterating his claim that the PML-N is the only party with the majority in the elections is Shehbaz Sharif.
“We’ve entered the next stage. I simply want to be clear that we will sit there and carry out our constitutional duties if the independents are able to form the government, regardless of whether they are members of the PTI or not.
“There need to be unanimity if they are unable to form the government. And this is how democracy works,” Shehbaz Sharif declared. He went on, “The president does not have to invite them to form the next government.”
He stated that they did not take to the streets after defeat in the general elections 2018.
