The Rawalpindi district government has come up with a plan to establish cheap markets, or “bachat bazaars,” where necessary food items may be purchased at discounted prices during the fasting month of Ramadan.
The food items that will be subsidized will comprise of fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, eggs, flour, sugar, ghee, and oil.Committee Chowk, Hyderi Chowk, Dhoke Hassu, Khayaban Sir Syed, Allama Iqbal Park Double Road, Gulzar Quaid, Adiala Road, Chakri Road Chowk, Morgah, Chohar Chowk, and Chongi 22 are the areas where seventeen such markets are planned to be developed around the district.
The tehsils of Murree, Kotli Sattian, Kahuta, Kallar Syedan, Gujjar Khan, and Taxila will host six more marketplaces.
Additionally, 24 handcart bazaars located across the city and cantonment districts have been approved as locations for the selling of subsidized necessities during the holy month. These Ramazan sasta bazaars, according to the details, will open on Shaban 25 and last through the end of Ramadan.

The same bazaars will be designated as Eid bazaars starting on the 20th of Ramadan. They will be selling celebratory goods as well as other necessities for Eid, such as flashy clothes for kids.The government will recommend prices for goods at low-cost bazaars throughout Ramadan. Every inexpensive Ramazan market will have a special sugar stall to help individuals who are fasting, while trucks stationed close to the bazaars will supply wheat.
According to Deputy Commissioner Hasan Waqar Cheema, there would be a different in-charge for pricing and security at every Ramadan bazaar.
