ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department of Pakistan (PMD) has issued a warning of a potential heatwave across the country starting on April 13.
According to the department, a significant temperature rise is expected due to increased atmospheric pressure, with southern regions experiencing intense heat.
Temperatures in Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan are expected to rise by 6 to 8 degrees Celsius above normal, while northern areas may see an increase of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius.
The heatwave is likely to persist from April 13 to April 18, with strong winds and dust storms expected to accompany it. In contrast, cloudy weather with intermittent rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar Region, Islamabad, Northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan over the next twelve hours.
