BAHAWALPUR: Amid grieving at the house of eight Pakistani workers from the same family from Bahawalpur who were slain in a terrorist attack in an Iranian city, their relatives have begged that their remains be returned immediately.
Speaking to the media, the mother and widow of Khalid, one of the victims from Mehrab Wala’s family in Ahmadpur East, asked the authorities to guarantee that the remains would be repatriated as soon as possible. They said they were in a condition of trauma.
According to authorities, terrorists opened fire and murdered eight Pakistani laborers in Mehrestan, Iran’s Sistan province, the previous day.
Six of the eight people slain were from Khanqah Sharif on the outskirts of Bahawalpur and two from Ahmadpur Sharqia in the Bahawalpur district.
The attack claimed the lives of Dilshad, Danish, Jafar, Nasir, Naeem, and Aamir from Khanqah Sharif, as well as Jamshed and Muhammad Khalid from Ahmedpur East.
The victims’ parents said they worked at a motor workshop in Iran. They had illegally entered Iran from Bahawalpur roughly seven years ago. The fatalities were Dilshad and his son Danish from Khanqah Sharif. When the family learned about the attack, they were astonished.
The entire community mourned the deaths, and a big crowd gathered at the deceased’s home.
The heirs of the dead stated that Naeem’s marriage was set to take place in a few days.
They requested that the government quickly contact Iranian officials and transport the corpses of their loved ones to Pakistan.

Muhammad Sajjad, the victim Jamshed’s brother, urged the authorities to take prompt efforts to repatriate his brother’s body.
The mother and widow of the deceased Khalid stated, “Our dear one was an innocent guy who was brutally killed. “We are extremely poor people.”
A sister of the dead Dilshad claimed her family had suffered a great shock and was in a state of anguish after hearing the news of targeted killings.
She stated that the victims included her brother and two nephews. She urged the authorities to take action for the repatriation of the corpses and justice in the matter.
