
LAHORE: The United Arab Emirates has established a new requirement for applicants from Pakistan seeking UAE visas. All applicants must obtain a police character certificate to ensure no crimes may be committed in foreign countries.
The character certificate is required for travel into the UAE, as well as for jobs abroad, immigration purposes, etc. Punjab Police Khidmat Markaz (PKM) has made applying for a police character certificate in Punjab, Pakistan, much easier.
Application can now be submitted from any PKM center in Punjab; the individual does not have to visit the district or address in person the character certificate is required for.
For example, someone who lived in Mianwali would simply apply for the certificate from PKM in Multan (where they now reside) and the police would receive their application.
To obtain Character certificate, person is required to have Original CNIC or B-form and its photocopies, Original and copy of a passport, affidavit, photographs, and an authority letter if applicant is living abroad
Authority letter with the stamp of relevant Embassy will be accepted, otherwise it should be attested by two respectable persons who are known to the applicant. The duration of applicant stay should also be mentioned in the authority letter.
If applicant is out of country, the form can be submitted by any blood relative with authority letter of the applicant.
The fee for Police Character Certificate for year 2025 is fixed Rs500 and it can be deposited at any counter of the Khidmat Markaz.
The applicant will be issued the certificate within three working days.
