Power race in Balochistan as PPP decides to make coalition government

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided to form a coalition government in Balochistan today. According to the sources privy to the information, Sanaullah Zehri is being considered as a nominee for the Balochistan Chief Minister slot.

PPP’s newly elected members of the Balochistan Assembly held a meeting to discuss the issue of government formation in the province at Sarfraz Bugti’s residence in Islamabad.

Elected member from PB-13, Sadiq Imrani stated that the PPP had the right to establish the government in Balochistan, as the people had elected them to that position.

Additionally, he added that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will support the PPP in Balochistan for a coalition government, adding that Party leadership will approve the candidate for chief ministerial slot.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) results tally, PPP and JUI-P candidates secured eleven of the fifty-one Balochistan Assembly seats. Independent candidates remained victorious on the remaining six seats with PML-N securing ten seats of the Balochistan Assembly during the Feb 8 elections.

Furthermore, the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) emerged victorious with four seats, while the National Party managed to clinch three seats in the general election 2024.
