The Education Department in Punjab the previous year announced the new school timings for Ramadan for both public and private institutions.

During the previous Ramzan, all public and private institutions in the province commenced classes Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm. The institutions were open on Friday from 7:30 am to 11:30 am.

In contrast, morning classes at double-shift schools commenced at 7:15 am and 12:30 pm, concluding at 12:15 pm and 4:30 pm, correspondingly.

However, this year authorities are yet to announce new school timing for Ramadan as the holy month is expected to start in Pakistan on March 11 or 12.

The caretaker government of Punjab has announced new school timings for February 2024 as the conclusion of the severe winter season across Punjab.

According to the latest update, boys’ schools in Lahore and other cities in Punjab will commence at 8:30 am and end at 2:30 pm. On the other hand, girls’ schools will start their classes from 8:15 am to 2:15 pm.

The Friday timings for boys’ schools are from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm, whereas girls’ schools conclude at 12 pm. Additionally, the caretaker Punjab government has also made changes in schools operating in double shifts.

Given that, similar to previous years, the holy month of Ramzan is anticipated to commence in March, it is expected that all public and private school schedules will be changed. During Ramzan, it is anticipated that colleges will start at 7:30 a.m.

LAHORE: In a move aimed at ensuring the well-being of students amidst changing weather conditions, authorities in Punjab have announced rescheduled school timings for the month of February 2024.

Starting from February 1, 2024, schools across the province will commence their classes at 8:00 am and conclude at 2:30 pm. This adjustment comes as the extreme cold wave, coupled with rains, comes to an end.

The revised timings dictate that regular classes at boys’ schools in Lahore and other cities will be conducted from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, while for girls’ schools, classes will take place from 8:15 am to 2:15 pm. Additionally, on Fridays, boys’ schools will conclude classes at 12:15 pm, and girls’ schools will wrap up at 12:00 pm.

Authorities have also accommodated schools operating on double shifts by modifying their timings accordingly.
