ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto on Friday criticized opposition lawmakers for their “hustle” during President Asif Ali Zardari’s address to Parliament, calling them “monkeys of the jungle.”.
While talking to the journalists, Bilawal described the use of foul language by the opposition in the joint session as unparliamentary behavior.
Bilawal said that President Zardari made history yesterday by addressing the Parliament for the seventh time as head of the state. He further said that, unfortunately, the opposition made its own history.
The PPP chairman Bilawal noted that he was not afraid of the “jungle monkeys” and had a history of fighting the party’s ‘dictators’.
The remarks came a day after lawmakers from the PTI-backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) staged an uproar during the first joint session of Parliament after the February 8 general elections.
Meanwhile, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq suspended the membership of two MNAs, Jamshed Dasti and Muhammad Iqbal, due to abusive language during President Asif Ali Zardari’s address.

The House approved the motion presented by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to suspend the membership of two Assembly members, Jamshed Dasti and Muhammad Iqbal.
The motion stated that Jamshed Dasti and Muhammad Iqbal (MNA) used abusive language and threatened in a threatening manner near the speaker’s dais, which was unacceptable.
Bilawal, while supporting the disciplinary action of Speaker of the of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, said that it is important to set an example for him.
