ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has lifted the ban on allotment and transfer of plots by the Land and Rehabilitation Directorate of Authority.
In the light of the orders of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), the Directorate of Land and Rehabilitation has issued a letter on January 17, 2024, to withdraw the office order dated January 17, 2024 banning allotment and transfer of plots and issuance of No Demand Certificates (NDCs).
The IHC ordered the CDA to lift the ban on allotment and transfer of plots on March 21, however, it took four weeks for Land and Rehabilitation to implement the court orders.
There is an impression that the CDA administration had banned the allotment and transfer of plots after failing to check illegalities and irregularities in the directorate.

Over the past seven years, a large number of small investors have lost billions of rupees due to CDA’s own transfer of plots which were later declared as bogus plots by the authority.
