According to the certificate of acceptance of Islam issued by Jamia Hanafia Sialkot, Jaspreet Kaur changed her name to Zainab and tied the knot with Ali Arsalan.

Before marriage, she converted to Islam at Jamia Hanafia Sialkot, where she adopted her new Islamic name, Zainab. Both Ali and Kaur met when the latter visited Pakistan for a religious pilgrimage, which began on January 16. Kaur, who also holds an Indian passport, was granted a single-entry visa till April 15.
Jamia Hanafiya administrators revealed that Kaur is one of the more than 2,000 non-Muslims who have converted to Islam at their institution. As per reports Kaur and Arsalan met abroad, leading to Kaur being invited to Pakistan, which culminated in their marriage.
