The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) in Lahore arrested another suspect in connection with the murder of Ameer Balaj, who was shot dead earlier this month at a wedding ceremony in an area of Lahore.
The suspect, Ahsan Shah, turned out to be a close friend of Balaj Tipu, the son of the deceased Tipu Truckanwala.
According to reports, he was apprehended on suspicion of conducting a recce on the whereabouts of Balaj. Shah was reportedly in Saudi Arabia at the time of the murder of Tipu Truckanwala’s son, and he had informed the rival group of his whereabouts via telephone,
The family of Ahsan Shah, on the other hand, has refuted the claim that he received Rs5 million for the recce.

Entering the wedding ceremony under the guise of a guest on February 19, a gunman opened fire, leaving Balaj dead and two others with severe injuries.
Three individuals were shifted to the Jinnah Hospital, where it was determined that the son of Tipu Truckanwala had died and two others were receiving treatment.
The area had been cordoned off by police and a comprehensive investigation has been launched to determine the reason for the murder.
In 2010, a firearms attack also claimed the life of his father, Tipu Truckanwala, at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.
