Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extends congratulations to Shehbaz Sharif for being sworn in as Prime Minister of Pakistan.
PML-N leader Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif took oath as the 24th Prime Minister of Pakistan today (Monday) in a ceremony that took place at Aiwan-i-Sadar in Islamabad.
Taking on X, formerly known as Twitter, PM Modi said, “Congratulations to Shehba Sharif on being sworn in as the Prime Minister of Pakistan.”

President Dr. Arif Alvi took the oath of office of Prime Minister from Shehbaz Sharif. After which the guard of honor was also presented to the new prime minister.

Shahbaz Sharif was elected as Prime Minister in the election for the post of Prime Minister slot during the special session of the National Assembly on Sunday.
Shehbaz Sharif secured 201 votes in the PM elections defeating PTI-backed SIC candidate Omar Ayub Khan, who managed to get 92 votes.
Global leaders express felicitation to Shehbaz for being sworn in as Prime Minister
Yesterday, newly-elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received multiple felicitation messages from numerous global leaders, vowing to strengthen bilateral relations with Pakistan.
Chinese President Xi Jinping was the first one to congratulate Shehbaz on assuming Prime Minister office.
In his message, President Xi Jinping expressed confidence that under the leadership of Shehbaz and Pakistan’s new government, and the united efforts of all sectors of Pakistan, the country would be able to make new and greater achievements in the cause of national development and progress.
Iran President Ibrahim Raisi also congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on his re-election as the Prime Minister of Pakistan by the National Assembly and he extended best wishes to the newly-elected PM. President Raisi wished to further expand the relations between the two nations of Iran and Pakistan during your new prime ministership.
Meanwhile, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also extended congratulations to the newly-elected Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
According to the PML-N, Illham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan sent a congratulatory message to Shehbaz Sharif on his re-election as Pakistan’s Prime Minister.
Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a telephonic conversation with PM Shehbaz, expressed confidence in the latter’s “ability to steer Pakistan on a path of progress and prosperity”.
PM Shehbaz thanked President Erdogan for his gracious congratulatory message and underscored the significance of the brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkiye.
